Our brand is fundamentally built on determination, endurance and adaptability. These traits are engineered into our heavy-duty equipment. This traces back to our founder, Josef Kleiner, who left Germany in 1959 to embark on an epic bicycle journey. That gruelling two-year odyssey perfectly encapsulates the resilience defining our lifting equipment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
Following his arrival in South Africa, Kleiner identified an opportunity in the local market for robust, competitively priced and locally manufactured hoists and overhead cranes rather than machinery assembled from imported components. In 1966, the company officially launched, rapidly transforming from a drawing office rooted in consulting engineering and drafting design into a multinational manufacturing powerhouse.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
Our geographic footprint and manufacturing capabilities have evolved over six decades. Driven by a philosophy of measured, sustainable capacity expansion to meet the increasing physical complexities of the mining and industrial sectors, we relocated in 2008. Moving to a 9000 square metre custom-built factory in Gosforth Park finally provided the capacity required to assemble, test and dispatch heavy duty equipment for the global resource sector.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
This move accelerated our transformation onto the global stage. Today, our Germiston Headquarters handles our core design, engineering and main manufacturing. In South America, our Chilean operations assemble components for the mining sectors. In Europe, our Bulgarian facility supplies the broader European and Russian markets.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
Steering this strategic vision is Managing Director Marc Kleiner, championing superior engineering capabilities, comprehensive local manufacture and unparalleled service support. Concurrently, Director Kyle Kleiner spearheads maintenance innovation. Our empowering maintenance strategy drastically increases equipment uptime, productivity and overall lifespan.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
The Kleiners actively project South African engineering excellence globally, preferring to meet consultants and clients directly. The absence of external shareholders gives Condra the ultimate freedom to invest in long-term engineering quality, robust material procurement and research and development.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
