{"id":5166,"date":"2015-11-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/2018\/condra\/about-us\/"},"modified":"2023-08-01T19:21:29","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T19:21:29","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/condra.co.za\/en\/about-us\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\r\n<h1>Company History<\/h1>\r\n<p>Initially structured as a Johannesburg-based consultancy and drawing office with general engineering capabilities, later research into the South African market for hoists and overhead cranes revealed an opportunity which <strong>Condra&#8217;s<\/strong> management believed the company could fill &#8211; that of local manufacture in place of local assembly from imported components. The research indicated that there existed substantial demand for a range of robust cranes and hoists if these could be competitively priced.<\/p>\r\n<p>Manufacture of the first overhead cranes began in 1971. Four years later Condra moved to a custom-built factory, still in Johannesburg, where design and manufacture of the first hoists began.
